Pete M
does this help us out at all? http://starparts.chrysler.com/starlibrary/reference_docs/salescode.pdf
eaglescout526
Wow! I'm surprised this popped up in the general search. I thought only dealer guys could access that through starparts and I'm wrong.
tugboat95
It helps me out. I got a sheet but I have no idea what half the codes mean. I see some decoding in my near future. Awesome find! Pete M
does that mean I'm special now? I've discovered a secret of the Chrysler!
Minuit
Do we have codes for 91?
eaglescout526
Indeed you have Pete. Ive got lots more irrelevant PDFs I can share from starparts. Actually in my sig is the same exact sales code link.
Pete M
I feel less special if the link has been in your sig for a while now.
fiatslug87
Do you think this would return the same info you guys get when decoding VINs, or do you think some of the reused codes are correct in this PDF since it's from 2008? If it has more accurate info I can create a spread sheet that can decode the build sheets.
Pete M
it's only a single example, but I looked up MCA (supposed to be front bumper guards but is always wrong) and on that site it does show as bumper guards.
eaglescout526
Huh was just about to go look at my VIN and see whats different and whats the same but Pete beat me to it. Well there you have it, the version that I have is probably out of date. I wonder when Chrysler updates these lists. Maybe every 10 years?

Pete M
well, it would appear this isn't a 100% cure for our ails. I looked up CGW (reads as next gen airbags in the chrysler computer printouts) and every single CGW code/subcode is an airbag of some kind. bummer. Minuit
All of the CG- codes on the back of my 1991 factory build sheet are related to restraint systems or airbags. CGW is not on the list.
Pete M
CGW isn't on the back of my 89/90 sheet either. but it shows up in the chrysler computer printout. gotta be seatbelt related.
