watchamakalit
A 4.0 with an A904? How's that work? Probably pretty well I have a 904 in my co behind a 258. don't see why it wouldnt work behind the 4.0. Obviously not factory. watchamakalit
I can't say for certain but I'm sure someone makes an adapter and honestly if someone is in the buisiness of building trucks of this caliber probably has the resources to manufacture one. strictlyxjs
This is me standing next to the owner and builder of this truck bob salemi. The 904 trans was found in wranglers so it bolts up to to 4.0. It was used in this application strictly for weight savings and buidability. Bob built one of the first ever 4.0 stroker motors maybe 20 years ago. My friend has it in his jeep now. I believe the bellhoisings are the same with the exception of the cps for the 4.0My build: https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https://comancheclub.com/topic/8033-finally-found-onenow-it-has-a-new-floor/&share_tid=8033&share_fid=53169&share_type=t

derf
The 904 /998/999 was also used in a lot of AMC cars. They're hard to find now but there are several models to choose from. You can also find the 727 behind AMC engines from the factory as well. They all need the CPS for factory fuel injection but that's not terribly hard to do.
