Hi all, just wondering if anyone can tell me what this bracket is for behind the rear axle? Noticed a while back when I was under the truck it was hanging down and I wasn't sure what it is for/ if I should fix it haha.

Thanks!

It's the load sensing valve for the brake system. It should be attached to the bracket on the differential via a rod. Search for load sensing valve.

My computer can't open your image, so I'll assume that FiatSlug is correct.

Mine couldn't either, it's an iPhone image so I uploaded it to https://heictojpg.com/ to convert it to jpg. Thanks for the benefit of the doubt sir. :applause:

Also, it's very important that the rusty flat arm that your finger is pointing to is horizontal with the valve hooked up. Otherwise there will be almost no rear braking.

horizontal and pointing toward the diff. :L:   (though I'm not sure if it'll swing all the way to the frame so that might be a moot point)
