Cool xj Wagoneer and other junkyard finds

I found this in a junkyard the other day and thought it was pretty cool. It was an 84 Wagoneer limited with 137k original miles. The yard also had a few other cool xjs including one with a black interior but sadly no comanches. I’m going back this week to snag the mint black buckets as well as a few other parts

Did it have any 'Jeep' badging on the rear?

Both of them had emblems on the rear and I grabbed them. They are in the bottom corner of the last picture on top of the radio. The waggy didn’t have the “Jeep” piece above the license plate like the later ones did but I have one from another waggy on my wall

Neat. My 84 is missing what is a uncommon version of the Jeep nameplate for the rear. But a good score for sure with a 21 slot still intact and not taken!

Can you send me a picture of it? I’ll check again when I go back this week. I’m pretty sure I got all the emblems but I may have missed something

No you got the nameplate, it would've been by the passenger taillight, I just never seen what it looked like. I found a NOS one on ebay but just needed a verification of what it looked like was all.

Oh ok, that Jeep Emblem in the picture was the one on the front header panel I believe. I wish I had taken a picture of the back but I forgot

The AMC made XJs are my favorites, to be honest. For my 89 build, I'm gonna be implementing a lot of stuff from those even if it's not quite appropriate for the year.

Good find on the seats too. That particular style of fabric is REALLY durable. Like a burlap sack. Good choice for a work truck.

I really like the amc xjs too, they have a lot more interesting parts and variation between them.

These seats are the nicest xj seats I’ve seen in a long time and they just happen to be black. I think I might stick them in my truck because I kind of miss my full console

Gotta ask - did the 84 have any interior worth saving in it?

Here are some pics of an ‘84 2 door that I recently discovered close to me.

I took these pics before I started pulling parts. I did get the Jeep nameplate from the back of this one and @Minuit now has the radio from it. It had a swing out tire carrier on it at one point that was gone before I got there. I’ve only ever seen a handful of those...

Yea this is the first 84 I’ve ever seen in a junkyard. I’ve seen 86s and one other 85 but no other 84s. It was pretty cool to see for sure

Any chance the steering wheel and AC deck are still there?

yes and yes. Yard is closed right now due to virus fun. But I’ll be back there soon. This is the XJ in the yard I was telling you about...

I would totally swap out my XJ's interior for the Wagoneer limited interior. And I'm not gonna care if my girl hates the porno red.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

The porno red is calling to you. Would you dare shun its light?

Better yet - porno red/slate blue mashup.

As much as I would love to have that red. I probably should listen to JEEP and my girl and not go with it. Granted it’s a limited interior but I’d be better trying to find a limited tan interior.
