High2by
I just bought the truck in middle TN and that's where it will stay I reckon. I plan on turning it into my new DD. 4.0/AW4 - 2wd - column shift - SWB - Pioneer. That's about all I can say for sure. It has a Ford 8.8 in the rear and bucket seats but they aren't factory I don't think.

High2by
Thanks for the information!!!! I didn't think the buckets were factory. After looking, I know why my speedo is so far off. The 8.8 has 4.10 gears in it. Good grief!!!! It still has the license plate bracket on the front but no sliding rear window. What is the "ALM" package? eaglescout526
ALM probably was once a package during the Chrysler era but changed with time. The speedo would be off if the tire size increased. Not the gearing. It could've had a slider and it probably broke all they could afford was a solid when it was still around. Pete M
take that list with a grain of salt. Chrysler reused some of the letters over the years and so some things might apply to newer cars. The Mopar hood lock for example probably refers to a Wrangler and so the original meaning of JKB won't show up in the dealership computers. a change in gearing will also change the speedo since our trucks' speedo cables measure the driveshaft speed rather than wheel speed. Huh. Had no idea it played a roll in that. Noted

Noted yup. the ratio changes the driveshaft's rotation speed. usually we just concern ourselves in the other direction but it works both ways. This is true and since it is sitting on basically the same size diameter tire as from the factory, it's way off. I know there is a chart that shows what tooth gear to use based on tire size and gearing but I haven't even pulled the speedo gear out to see what it looks like yet. I am not as familiar with this set up since it doesn't have a transfer case in it. Is the speedo gear the same as the one that would fit in the t-case? Pete M
yes, the speedo gear is inside the t-case.
fiatslug87
Speedo gears are the same between 2WD and 4WD. Obviously yours is in the transmission tail end and should be the long shaft version.

High2by
I found this taped to the inside of the drivers door panel. It's hard to read though...
