Jeep Driver Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 If the connector is not melted or destroyed, you'll get new clips an rebuild it just as you would a fuse block. Take the end of the wire back to good wire.

Cheapamanche Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 So I pulled out the harness from the ignition switch and turned the key out of curiosity and low and behold... the engine started right up and I was able to kill it normally. I'll pull the dash apart. My guess is that the ignition is somehow tied into the headlight switch since the engine won't die if my headlights are on. Anyone else have any ideas or hunches? What direction would you take from here?
Ωhm Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Did vehicle always have this problem? Is it something new or just discovered? Is vehicle equipped with Headlight Delay Module? Does it have a HD LP DLY fuse?
Cheapamanche Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 It has been like this since I got it about 2 months ago. It has a HD lp dly fuse. I'm not sure what it is but I took note of it in the 88schematic that you guys gave me. The fuse was good. What is the headlight delay module?
Cheapamanche Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 So I watched a video on youtube about it and I recall seeing the connector for it in my truck hanging down and not connected. When I get off work I'll check and see if the relay is good and try to figure out why it's not connected.
Cheapamanche Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 Dug into it a little on my lunch and discovered my fuel pump primes when I pull out my headlight switch. This weekend I'll be tearing into my headlight switch. Not much else I can say until I get into it. I'll let everyone know what I find when I get to it.

Cheapamanche Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 Why yes it does! With the dimmer turned up it is on until I turn the knob about half way then it cuts out. I just pulled the switch out and everything looks good visually except for the huge pile of corrosion that fell out of it. All the terminals look good and the pigtail looks good. I blasted it with cleaner. So turning the knob either starts it or kills it. It doesnt have a ramp up or down effect. Either on or off. GREAT FIND! your awesome.
Cheapamanche Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 I do need to clarify. Manual transmission. The headlight switch only primes the fuel pump. It does not stay running with the headlight switch on.
Cheapamanche Posted August 23, 2019 Author Posted August 23, 2019 So I took out the switch again and thoroughly cleaned it and cleaned the c101 connector again and it no longer powers my fuel pump. No I noticed that when I pull my fuse for instrument lights and put it back in my hazard flasher clicks. don't know if its tied to all of this. Tried re connecting my fusible link and it still primes my fuel pump and my driver side running light stays on as long as my link is connected. Obviously I'm shorting out somewhere in there.
Jeep Driver Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Follow the harness from the driver's kick panel to the driver's tail light............the pump wiring is in the middle...........you have connectors to inspect and the ground for the pump is at the tail light.

Too me, that means fuel pump ON for 2-3 seconds, then OFF. This primes the fuel rail with pressure. Is that what your seeing or is fuel pump just ON?

Ok I did check the ground at the tail light, sanded and cleaned. I only have checked the harnesses under the truck. Are there more hidden?
