youngfred Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 ... Is there also, plastic-coated nut/washer that work with these to secure the battery ? youngfred
fiatslug87 Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 The stock set up was a nut with integral washer.

I found two of those in the pile but like the old top bracket, they are in pretty bad shape. I going to try to see if they clean up. youngfred
Keyav8r Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Pick up stainless steel nuts and washers. The chain home stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc.) may have stainless fender washers that will give more washer diameter to better match the size of the bracket eye. I’d like to find a bracket in good condition like the one in your photo.

I'm surprised to see that your hood prop rod plastic clip is in good shape. The ones on my '88 MJ & '89 XJ were both broken so I replaced them with metal ones from newer XJ's. Hood struts would of course solve that problem.
Keyav8r Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Don doesn’t allow anything on his MJ to be broken, in poor shape, or even out of place. And, of course, CHROME IS KING!

Kickin’Chicken Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Dang! I saw that in the back of my truck - along with a ton of other junk (they were using my MJ to haul scrap) - and gave it to a guy who comes around looking for scrap metal. I don't guess there is a current part sold in stores that will work?
