I was looking around the webbernet and saw that in 84 Jeep had some five slot wheels on Grand Cherokees. The slots were squared off. Then, I read that some Comanches had those wheels too. I've not seen any Comanches with them or even the five slot mags. Has anyone?

They are a rare wheel, but I do see them every once in a while. Youll only see them on early model XJ's, like in the link, I think it says 84-86. Most people don't want them as they are 15x6, narrower than the later aluminum wheels at 15x7. There was a full spotless set of these on the Cash for Clunkers XJ Wagoneer that I got a bunch of stuff off of at the time.

My preference is the later 91 aluminum 15 x 7 wheel.  But I am also in love with the Minilite magnesium wheels from many 1960's British sports cars.

I'm assuming that was a while ago?

Just because, I thought I would do a little Photoshop action to see how they might look. Pretty good, I'd say.

There was an '85 or '86 Waggy at a yard back home that I want to say had these sitting in it. Yard in question likes to pull the tires off and put the wheels back into the car they came off. I'm heading home for Christmas and there's a not-unreasonable chance I may end up at the yard. If anyone's interested I can check to see if they're still/were ever there.

It may influence my decision to go or not. I don't have anything specific that I need right now, and it is a little bit out of my way.

What's your guess on price? Don't really have any good yards around me, so my experience is very limited.

I'd guess at $50 per wheel, but I'm also guessing shipping out of Brandon, MB won't necessarily be cheap. I've never bought wheels there, but I did get a full set at a yard in Winnipeg at that price.

Worst of the XJ/MJ wheel designs.  Blah.  Too small/narrow and the offset puts the wheel too far into the wheel well in my opinion.

They did it to the ZJ TSI package too........ hideous wheels.

Well they are in fact there, at Wesman Salvage in Brandon, MB. it's an 84/5 Waggy. Stock number 20925 I think? Going by car-part.com listings for that.

The Grand Cherokee didn't come out until 1993.
