Got it - I actually thought the same thing with regards to the thickness of the tube. It was sitting on top of the wheel well in the Comanche it got pulled from.

I'm guessing that the OD on an original roll bar is closer to 3".   By comparison, the OD on a MJ Dana 35 rear axle tube is 2.5" while a Chrysler 8.25 rear end is 3".   What you have might not be right but it's pretty neat.
