Today was a good day!

Made some great Craigslist finds this weekend- jammed out to Phoenix in this heat wave at 3am to grab a Comanche D44 and light bar for about $500. Going to sand these down and throw on a coat of paint before they go in the truck!

 

Edit: found a factory xj skid too

It was. Unfortunately that doesn't look like a factory roll bar though.

Horn, what should I look for to verify? Was pretty cheap and fits great so I guess I can't complain either way!

Yeah the tube diameter is thicker than the OEM bar.  And the rear foot placement is wrong - the OEM goes on the forward side if the fender well, that one sits on top.

 

But I'm betting it'll look nice installed!

Got it - I actually thought the same thing with regards to the thickness of the tube. It was sitting on top of the wheel well in the Comanche it got pulled from.

That couldn't be too hard to duplicate.   Does anyone have accurate dimensions or even know the outer diameter?

the diameter of ours is about 3''. So I imagine the OEM one is 2-2.5''

I'm guessing that the OD on an original roll bar is closer to 3".   By comparison, the OD on a MJ Dana 35 rear axle tube is 2.5" while a Chrysler 8.25 rear end is 3".   What you have might not be right but it's pretty neat.

I have a factory SWB rollbar in my garage pending install.   I just measured the OD of the tubing with a dial caliper, and it is exactly 3".

I'll try to do the same today and get an exact OD measurement
