stevekop Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Need to drain fuel tank on 89 Comanche. Tried to siphon did not work, any questions,
Marine1Texas Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 disconnect pump tube and turn the ignition on the pump will start pumping it out. unless your pump is bad.
DirtyComanche Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Does the pump still work? Just pull the fuel line off the filter and redirect it into a jerry, then put a jumper from the ballast resistor right to the battery and pump it out. (Do this at your own risk, but it is how I do it)
Ωhm Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Not sure on how much fuel you expect to get from an empty gas tank or should topic read "Emptying the gas tank".
DTA Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Just dropped mine yesterday to paint it actually! This is what I've always done to empty a tank
gogmorgo Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 ^^^That's a cool idea. I'll definitely be giving it a shot the next time I need to do such a thing. But my concerns about putting my mouth on a hose that's been used for gas have nothing to do with germs and more to do with several days of belching gas vapours. I've always just pulled the fuel line and jumpered the pump relay, although if you've got pump issues that won't work so well.
