schardein Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Since our column is a Saginaw, widely used in other vehicles (GM), I wonder if one from an older Chevy truck or Chevy/Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac car would work? I've never paid any attention. Might be close enough to get you on the road until a genuine MJ one can be found.
HOrnbrod Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 This one will work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GM-OEM-STEERING-COLUMN-SHIFT-LEVER-25619183-2561-9183-FREE-SHIPPING-/152438194724?hash=item237e064224:g:YBcAAOSwzLlXh7Vr&vxp=mtr
Strokermjcomanche Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Do you need just the knob at the end or all that you have pictured?
pitbull4x4 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I'm getting ready to pull a column with that part
Airborne Janitor Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks for the replies. Yes, I am aware that other GM-style levers will work, but all the ones I'm finding are either "S" shaped, or just plain ugly. I'd prefer to stick with a "straight stick", preferably OEM. Here's what mine looks like under the "knob": I'm sure I can chisel off what's left of the plastic knob, so if you have a knob replacement I'll give it a shot if it's in good shape. Either way I'll take a good condition complete unit too.
ScottJeep Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 This was the knob that was my replacement. Dorman HELP! 76935 Gear Shift Knob and Bushing https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000COBC9C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Used Gorilla glue and duct tape to hold it in place overnight. Three years and still looks new.
