fiatslug87 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I like the bottle opener addition, I have one on mine too.
HOrnbrod Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 I've got to take it off though and crusty it up in muriatic acid; it's too shiny. Your bench looks more comfortable than mine.
fiatslug87 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 ... it's too shiny. ??? Who is this? What have you done with Don?
HOrnbrod Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 I've got to take it off though and crusty it up in some muriatic acid; it's too shiny............. EDIT: ...........for this application.
Minuit Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I've got to take it off though and crusty it up in muriatic acid; it's too shiny............. EDIT: ...........for this application. Nonsense. It needs to blind anyone who dares lay eyes on it.
Minuit Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 And while we're at it, what the hell is with all of the black in your avatar? You know that ain't right.
HOrnbrod Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 No, it ain't. My prehistoric graphics editor doesn't have any way (that I know of) to make something look like chrome. The black bumper and trim really saddens me... Bottle opener and screws appropriately "aged". For 30 minutes. Don's fake metal aging process: 1. Let it boil in a plastic container under straight muriatic acid for 5-10 minutes.2. Pull it out of the acid and rinse copiously with hot water to neutralize.3. While still wet, heat it up with a heat gun or propane torch until the desired shade of rust appears.4. Let cool, then shoot it with clear satin polyurethane.5. Done.
Streetglide409 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Very nicely done! What, no cup holders?
HOrnbrod Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 The final touch. Thanks Adam.
fiatslug87 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 That handle needs Don's metal aging process. And I love the bottle opener instructions, that must be the Alabama special. :rotf: But seriously, looks great!
