MF Steve!
After recently stripping the interior of my 2WD MJ, I noticed a cover plate over what looks to be a hole for a t-case shifter. Did all of the tubs, regardless of driveline have the hole cut for 4WD provisions, or was my MJ once a 4WD? Also, is there any type of VIN decoder for the MJ? rockhardzj
They all have it. Asssembly line friendly. Yep. cover it up if its only got one driveshaft, and throw a shifter in the hole for two. :D Makes life so much easier to swap to 4wd when there is no cutting, fabbing, or fancy ghetto rigging needed, and everything just bolts up. MF Steve!
Ah but there will be plenty of cutting, welding, and hammering! Damn '86 firewall!

JeeperjohnfromPA
Hey Thanks for the link to the VIN decoder, checked it out, it came up correct for all the jeeps I entered, 1991 YJ, 2001 XJ, and 87 MJ. ;)
mjeff87
They all have it. Asssembly line friendly. And if you notice on the side of the tranny tunnel on the driverside, there are four dimples in it....that's where the bolts that hold the shift bracket that's underneath go. All you have to do is drill them out and hang the bracket. No guesswork/measurement involved whatsoever Jeff
