Dana 60?

Recommended Posts

I have a Venture Truck Parts dana 60 rear axle that I am collecting parts with a detroit locker that someday I will install.  Currently working on the Yukon free spin for the front dana 30 with one piece axle and larger u-joints.  Yesterday I worked on new ball joints.

That's similar to what I would like to do, since I will be converting over to 4wd I want to swap both axles at the same time, there is a pair of axles being sold near me front d44 and rear d60 for 700 with 80k on them. I'm going to attempt to get a deal on em'

I have a custom 60 in the rear of my Mj. It started out as a full floater from a 78 f250 converted to semifloat. It's got 5.13s and a locker. The shocks are temporary.

The front is a full width hp44 with Flat top knuckles.

What is the width of your front axle, do you know?

Still seems odd.  Likely the original hubs could have been turned down and drilled to 5x5.5, and the spindles bored for the 1.5" 35 spline shafts (if they even needed to be).  But that's me, like I said, I love FF axles.

FF is convenient, but for this truck the way its setup is more than enough. If i were to build another wheeler it would be something a little bigger like an Explorer/4runner on 05+ Superduty axles.

The front is roughly 65". I did move the front flare up to the body line shortly after this pic was taken, The truck had been sitting and that's the first time it moved in a while, that's why it was filthy.
