Battery short to ground now truck won't start

Recommended Posts

I started my 89 Comanche up after head gasket replacement. Truck idled for about 10-15 secs but was making a noise. I jumped out to see what it was and then it died. Ended up being the fan chewing up my winch positive lead  :fs1: Got pushed in the way I guess. So I unhooked the cable went back to start it and nothing. Just cranks over and over. I tried the ole unhook the cps and still nothing. I checked the fuseable links and grounds, nothing seems out of the ordinary. I tried to research and I'm thinking Ecu or Icm. Am I on the right track or way off?

I have a different engine (3.4 v6) and what not but I had the same thing happen a wile back and it smoked the 1 and only other ground on the engine ! The one on the left rear cylinder head to fire wall ! Fixed that and added some more , still can't believe I missed that during the engine swap but o well . Purrs like a sick cat once again! Worth a check .

Test the cps, u may have pulled it w/o noticing.

Actually I did late yesterday AC volts read .1-.2 so I'm guessing it's the culprit. You think the short at the battery would have fried it though?
First of all sorry for not answering earlier quito busy in this life, and if thats the reading on the cps, thats a no start condition, check on cruiser tips for refreshing grounds

I have done all the tips. First thing I did when I got the truck. I actually got a can on starting fluid today, shot it in the intake and she fired up for a sec. So it def is fuel related now.
