Just wanted to see if anyone has done this swap before. I think it would be relatively similar to the yj ax15 swap. Transfer case ddrop and all for the clocking. What parts aare required? So far I know I need a new crossmember, master/slave cylinder, pilot bearing, and possibly a rigged up linkage for the transfer case.

I'm checking to see if you get any answers to this too. I can possible get a good deal on a trans and tcase from a 2004 TJ. Would like any information too.

I installed an AX15 from a XJ.  He's a video on youtube where the guy install an XJ AX15 into a YJ.  He shows how he clocks the tcase for the different drops.  This would be the same process in the other direction.

Wrangler clocking is not that bad to not fit our trucks...

Most guys here would agree it's better clocked up than down going off-road so you don't break your transfer case...

I did an ax15 on my 4cyl with a 93 yj ax15 converted to external slave...

I just had to hammer the tunnel to fit the transfer case but it wasn't too bad of a job....

Picture angle is not the best but I have about 1/2" space before any contact....

Where are you from?  There are Three AX-15/231 XJ's in the wrecking yard just down the road from me. one a 94, a 97, and a 01.  Which means they are all external slaves.

Total cost from this yard with the trans and T-case will be roughly $200 out the door.
