HOrnbrod Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Picked up an Injen polished aluminum air tube on Ebay for cheap. The seller didn't know what it fit. It looked like it might work for me, I made him an offer and got it. It fits fine after a little massaging, and adds a bit more bling to the engine compartment.
Kickinmule Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Had to look close to find it what with all the cleanshinydoyouevendrivethatthing!
schardein Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 That's nice. Is that a dual diaphragm booster I see? Also I see an underhood light. I'm familiar with the part. Did you do away with the stock one on the pass side?
HOrnbrod Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 96 XJ master/booster, and yes, I still have the underhood light on the right side.
AeroNautical Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I see the horseshoe intake manifold, did you notice any improvement when you installed it? Only wish my engine bay looked that good, but it'd just get dirty again the next time I went wheelin...
HOrnbrod Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Got a 12HP gain with the 01 manifold on the stroker: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=387 I notice a lot of butt-dyno experts here claim there's no gain from the new manifold and other add-ons, but that's just BS if you don't test it with something more accurate than your butt. :rotfl2:
Jeep Driver Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Nice. You don't ever actually drive your truck, do you? :P

I noticed an increase in power each time. The improved belt tension adjustment setup is enough reason for the mod in my opinion. Especially when the parts can be found cheap at the local pic-n-pull.

That's an awesome improvement, think it would be something similar on a 4.0 with cold air, high flow header and exhaust? I can get one out of a JY for $10, would all my vac lines, power steering pump and fuel rail bolt right up?
HOrnbrod Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 You'll have port mismatch with a Renix head, but here's the procedure on an HO: http://mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthread.php?6355-4-0L-99-intake-manifold-swap-with-REAL-DYNO-NUMBERS!
neohic Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Looks nice Don, but the big ol' sticker is kind of a turn off for me.
