snakedoc67
Whats the general opinion of Rancho RS5000 shocks in a stock 87 4x4 with 235/75/15's? Set of 4 on the local cl that came from a 99 WJ with low use and for a decent price. Eventually I am looking at putting 31's on but that is not anytime soon. Mostly use it on pavement and light off roads.
91Pioneer
They were on my '88 and they were really stiff, I hated 'em. Stock truck, same size tires.
Eagle
I agree with 91Pioneer -- too stiff for my liking. Will 99 WJ shocks even fit an MJ?
schardein
I've had Rancho 5000 on a full size Blazer, and two Toyotas, a stock 1985 and a lifted 1980. Ride was ok for the Blazer (lifted with 35s), ok for the lifted 1980 with 33s, and horriblely stiff on the 1985 with stock sized tires. For 235s and stock suspension, I would go with a stock type replacement. Rockauto has some good deals with rebates from several manufacturers. banshee
Have to agree on a DD not so good, but offroad to hold you on the trail, keeping your tires firmly planted, Oyea great love them
snakedoc67
Thanks, I'd say thats enough consistency to pass on them. lol
cruiser54
Thanks, I'd say thats enough consistency to pass on them. lol They suck for DD use for sure. See if you can find a set of JK Rubicon shocks that were removed when a guy added a lift. they're nice. Have to change some ends but it's no big deal for a man of your caliber. benjy_26
I dug em on my ZJ, but I was driving FAST on 32's. On a light MJ, I bet they'd be jarring.
Crash
JK Rubi shocks are going to be too long for the front at stock height, not sure about the rear.
