Roverguy93 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 So its been done before but theres no clear guide that i can see that tells you what length cables you need for a handbrake setup compared to the foot brake. Anybody know a good match for a short bed?
dasbulliwagen Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I saw where one person used the original foot brake cable and looped it under the seat then connected it to the handbrake. Might be an option for you.
neohic Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Depends on if you're going with the '97+ hand brake handle or the '96-. http://comancheclub.com/topic/38053-early-xj-hand-brake-in-mj/
Jeepman Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 For my 97+ conversion I found the perfect match well almost perfect but its the closest I could find after searching the spec in my suppliers catalog.. The E-brake cable I am using when I converted to hand brake is Ultra 6908 Basically a 1988 Pontiac Fiero Rear Right E-brake cable
Roverguy93 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 And thats the single cable that goes from the handle to the bracket right?
Roverguy93 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Not the exact part # you have but will this work? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000C9G9OK/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1428247529&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=1988+pontiac+fiero+parking+brake&dpPl=1&dpID=31Kcn0j9gsL&ref=plSrch#
Jeepman Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 And thats the single cable that goes from the handle to the bracket right? Yes This is for the Hand brake to the Equalizer bracket... It is just the right length with a little slack but not too much and the correct ends to match the OE ends that should be there...
Roverguy93 Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Awesome thanks so just to clarify i don't have any parking brake parts except for the handle and the bracket. Ill order this fiero cable and then i guess ill need to order oem comanche cables for the bracket to brake cables for a short bed right?
Jeepman Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Yes Just get the rear cables that match your Axle and this cable should work out great for you...
