Have an 89 xj 4.0 6 cylinder and the fuel injectors are leaking. O rings are fine. I've heard the 746 volvos are good but what years work? Are there any other jeep injectors that are a good swap?

You want to look for Bosch # 0 280 155 746

These are the best for the Renix 4.0s.

They were found in volvo's, but Bosh was the manufacturer. I would search for them by bosh part number above, some on eBay, something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121343759313?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Try to find some that have been cleaned, tested, and have all-new o-rings, pintles,

There is also a guy on cherokee forum that sells sets of the 746's remanufactured and tested for a similar price. I emailed him, but never heard back, and ended up buying a cleaned/tested set on eBay for about $80 for 6 injectors.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was looking to replace my injectors as well and I was told that the Volvo injectors are a two piece injector and can possibly leak. I went with 98 dodge neon injectors but I have yet to put them in.

Volvos, neons or mustangs. I have volvos and get a little better mileage and can speed up a little faster as well. I've heard volvos are best for renix that's why I went with them. Do some research before you make a decision. I know there is quite a bit of stufft on cherokeeforum.

I'm correcting you because you are wrong...

The Renix injectors were 2 piece and prone to leaking at the crimp/seam.

Hi all,

I'd really appreciate if somebody knowledgeable on the subject would comment back about my previous post (#5 above). My truck is an '88 5-speed. Thanks in advance for the help!

What's odd about that eBay auction, SJBrooks, is, it only has Mopar injected Jeeps, 91 and above, listed. I was under the impression that these could be used in Renix injected Jeeps as well.

They can be used on Renix models if you use the EV1 Renix harness connector to the injector EV6 connector adapters, which are included in the auction in post #5.

I too thank all for the replies so far. Further questions:

1. Are truly new 746 injectors available?

2. If yes, from where?

3. Will that source have the connectors needed to adapt the injectors to the stock wire harness?

Thanks again all,

You can find used ones on eBay in decent conditions and get a rebuild kit and they be just fine. And you don't need to adapt them to the wiring harness it's all plug and play.

I just bought a set of 6 from eBay for 45 bucks and a rebuild kit for 15. I'm doing the fuel filter and an ignition tune up at the same time. Should be a pretty straight forward way to smooth running.

^^ This. I got a set of Bosch 0280155703 "Neon" injectors from him - good guy to work with.
