ComancheLee Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I went to a dealer today and looked at a 1988 jeep comanche it only had one mirror. On the driver side, no passenger side mirror. The dealer said that they came off the factory line like that is that true? Could anyone with knowledge about Comanches help please :???:
sloride Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 That is correct. It was an option, to have a passenger side mirror.
Jeep Driver Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 That's news to me. I have never seen any Jeep of any kind with no passenger mirror.
dasbulliwagen Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Mine was originally like that with a little cover plate in place of the mirror. I also had a little cover over the antenna hole as mine was radio delete as well. Also no rear bumper.
Incommando Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The no rear bumper thing was common a crossed all makes. For decades the federal requirement for mirrors were one interior rearview mirror and on external mirror or two external mirrors. If you have a low-optioned vehicle then all they did was meet the minimum.
metrictonner Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 In 88 the only standard mirrors were drivers side: remote control on Laredo longbed, manual on everything else. All rear bumpers were optional except Eliminator shortbed's silver step.
