Krome_Dome
Hey guys, I was driving my manche home and I made it about a half mile down the road before my clutch would not engage. I still have fluid in the master cylinder but no pressure in the pedal what so ever. I think I blew a line or maybe the slave cylinder. I'm still new to all this and would like some input. If it is either do you think it would be beneficial for me to get lines or slave cylinder from the junkyard? She's a 2.8 v6 4x4 5 speed. Thanks in advance! dustyinthedirt
mine did the same thing but i didnt lose any fluid so that rules out a line blowing out. i figured it was the slave cylinder since i had replaced to fluid resivor on it about a month ago. i am installing the clutch and bolting the trans back up tomorrow. i will let you know if that fixed my problems. you could just have air in the lines though also. i was getting air in my lines from somewhere. the clutch just wouldnt have any pressure sometimes. yxmj
2 Quick tests have a partner help press the pedal 1) Take off the top of the master and press down on the pedal.....if the fluid goes up or bubbles it is your master. (is there leaking in the cab were the master is located?) 2) Same thing but look below.... is fluid leaking?.....from the line or the bell housing That will narrow it down to upper or lower and you can go from there.

yxmj
Do you see bubbles rising up in the reservoir when you push the pedal down? If so it is either that #11 has collapsed or #9 has worn out You probably need to work on your master......you can pick on up and install it easy........ If you are interested here is a link on how to fix it if it is the #11 spring that has collapsed... http://comancheclub.com/topic/41742-clutch-master-rebuild-mod/

CGCWO
Just had the same symptoms this week. Re-placed the Master Cylinder on firewall, still didn't have great pressure. Recruited my sons help, bled all the old fluid and air out of the system and it feels much better.
Krome_Dome
I just checked it with my dad. I had him push down on the clutch and pump it. No fluid leaked out anywhere and no bubbling in the master cylinder. I could hear the fluid sloshing around. I think it just needs bled. Does that sound right? Thanks guys.
