benjy_26 Posted February 19, 2015 Share Posted February 19, 2015 Hello all. I'm having clutch issues...again. It started this morning on my commute to work. The pedal started getting softer, and I had to keep pushing it further down for it to disengage. On my drive back, I was having to push it all the way to the floor. Going up my driveway, I pretty much lost the clutch. There are no leaks, I'm not missing any fluid, but the fluid in the reservoir is BLACK. I changed my slave cylinder a few months ago, btw. tugalo Posted February 19, 2015 Share Posted February 19, 2015 Put your head down by the gas pedal and look up at the end of the clutch arm. Take your hand and push on the clutch pedal, watch the end of the clutch arm where it attaches to the rod, if the rod turns, it is not broken Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

benjy_26 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Share Posted February 20, 2015 Thanks a bunch, guys. I got it running in a snap! I swapped the master out, bled the system, and it's running smoooooth now. I had replaced my clutch line prior to this. I think the black stuff in the fluid was what was left of the MC's blown seals. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dustyinthedirt Posted February 20, 2015 Share Posted February 20, 2015 My master was leaking a while back and i exchanged it and after that it would lose pressure every once and a while, i would pump it and the pressure came back. till one day it didnt and it would fluid would be full of bubbles. is it because i didnt bench bleed it properly? i tried to bench bleed it but i'm not sure i did it right Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I gravity bled it once installed (to get all the old, dirty fluid out), then did the "normal" bleeding of the system just to make sure. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
