thejim42
How many miles can I expect to get out of a ba10? I need a new trans for my truck and I can get a ba10 for a lot less than an ax15 and money is kinda tight right now. If I'm just doing normal everyday driving what would the life expectancy be? mnkyboy
I've seen them with over 200,000 miles and still going.
91Pioneer
Drive it nice and you're good. Put in new fluid, the right stuff though.
thejim42
What is "the right stuff"? I made the mistake of putting gl4 or gl5. Don't remember which and it tore up my syncros and bearings. Which is why I need a new trans
87MJTIM
275k on mine and still going. I was told by a manual trans mechanic to use Pennzoil Synchromesh.
nitroxsteve
My ba 10/5 is the only original piece of my trucks drive train. Engine was rebuilt and the rear end has been replaced.
Eagle
What is "the right stuff"? I made the mistake of putting gl4 or gl5. Don't remember which and it tore up my syncros and bearings. Which is why I need a new trans 287,000+ for the one in my '88 Cherokee. GL5 is the recommended gear lube for the BA10/5. That's all mine has ever seen. It's the AX-5 and AX-15 that should not see GL4 or GL5.
