Score w/Questions

I just scored a set of 97 doors with power windows, locks, mirrors (Though 1 is broken) and interior panels with 2 lighted sun visors for $75.

 

Questions:

Will the locks from my old doors transfer over or will I need to get keys?

Will the ignition switch from a newer one fit my old column?  If not, I will just have to get 2 keys.

 

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the newer doors before I start this project?

The diameter of the hole for the lock cylinder is either larger or smaller( I can't remember) on the newer doors.

The wiring diagram may be difficult. I have the 2000 XJ FSM -- the wiring diagrams occupy about 150 pages! :eek:

I've been seriously looking for 97+ SE manual doors for better than a year now, apparently impossible to find.

 

 

If I go the route of power window/locks, I plan to use a 12v source and work out the wiring before I install the doors, making up a harness to the doors and across the doors before installation.

Yeah, may take me a few hours of trial and error but I'll get it figured out.

i did it. the windows and mirrors are not that bad. the door locks i have not figured out yet. theres a write up here somewhere

There is a wiring write up in the DIY section.  The same write up was in JP magazine 3 or 4 years ago.  The CC member was in Orange County, can not remember the name right now.
