bekkip
Hi Folks. Could not afford to put in a new headliner when mine started sagging, so came up with a great solution. I got some Bed Ruffle Pins, they are the ones that Grandma used to put doilies onto chairs so they would not fall off. They have a clear plastic head and the pin is curly like a pigs tail. You just screw the pins into the foam above the material headliner, works great and sure beats having the material sag down onto your head. Not good for tall folks at all, the pins worked really well. Enjoy the photo of my effort. 8) Becky in Arizona [/img]

JeepcoMJ
for headliner fixes, buy new headliner material off ebay (type in headliner material in the search, or instead of material, fabric), you can buy it in like 3 and 6 yards and such... then remove your headliner (remove a-column and b-column trim, oh sh*t handle, some tin clips on either side, and 4 velcro pieces are holding it in). buy some fiberglass resin, fabric optional (but suggested) and brush it ALL OVER the headliner. do one side, then let dry, then do the other. a few coats are a must. the use of the fiberglass is because the actual headliner material is layered and pulls apart very easy...you'll glue the new liner to stock material, it WILL pull down very very rapidly. anyways, fiberglass both sides and then when that dries, spray with 3m adhesive spray (clear) at least a few coats. DON'T spray the headliner material...it soaks through. let dry for a few minutes between each spray, then wait a few more minutes, and lay down the new fabric. push and spread until it's tight... wrap it around the edge and glue it down, then let dry for a day or two...fabric side up. this will allow it to set right. it's a few days job...but it is the ONLY way to ensure it will stay up using a stock headliner. Pete M
Looks nice! Much better than the staples holding mine up. Or the nails that held mine up for a while. Where might I find these pins? Furniture shop? Specialty store? Walmart?
DirtyComanche
Where might I find these pins? Furniture shop? Specialty store? Walmart? Fabric, quilting, or craft store. As a guess. They look pretty decent.
xipantera31ix
I redid mine with black felt from wal mart. I pulled off all of the old foam and headliner material. I put the headliner material over the board, then folded it half over itself. Then I saturated half of the "board" with 3m automotive spray adhesive and half of the headliner felt that is facing up(you can do this because the glue won't soak through the felt), waited 5 minutes, and pressed it down together, then did the same on the other side. I then waited about an hr for it all to set up, cutting the edges and leaving about 2" extra all the way around. I then hot glued the edges around to the backside and cut out all of the holes and slots on it. I really doubt that will come apart anytime soon lol as soon as I put it down, it was STUCK whick did leave me with some wrinkles which sucks but its definitely not going anywhere anytime soon! Not to mention the felt was about $5, and the spray was about $16 for 2 cans, so for about $20 total, I did it myself.
fendermb4
You can get the headliner material at Joanne Fabrics, if you have those in your area. I think it was around $6.00 a yard there. They had gray, black, and blue at mine. If you've ever seen the headliner on ebay that is custom made for the comanche for about $115 - its actually just a piece of non-corrugated cardboard that is cut to fit with Joanne Fabric type headliner attached with spray adhesive.
