JeepcoMJ
picked up a waggy front end today i cleaned everything, taped it all off,a nd painted the centers of the headlight bezels and grille black. also painted the turn signals and i kinda test fit it so now i gotta sand it, prime it, wet sand it, then thin the spare paint i have from when i got my truck painted, and spray the crap outta it so it will match, then clear coat it. hopefully i can do all the sanding and stuff by tomorrow, and then paint it a couple coats, then have it done after work on sunday night...bolt it on and voila! i got the wiring too, but it's all the same except the headlight wires...i'm going to use my existing harness and make a connector plugin to split the old headlight connector into the dual connectors. should be a sinch :D
ChiefJosh
Nice work! I gotta admit though, I'm not a huge fan of the Waggy grille, I prefer the 97+ XJ, but hey - to each his own
Rokhound
i don't no if it was here or on other website but there was a MJ 4 sale that had a Waggy front end and it did not look to bad. I wish i could rember where that was
ChiefJosh
It was on here, in the Classifieds. It was the guy in NYC who had a gray one posted up on Craigslist. It was in real nice shape. I think you mean this one: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4673
Mitch
I thought you were putting a 97+ face on the 3800 and building a different MJ with the waggy nose? Thought I read that like yesterday... could have been someone else I guess..
jeepdoggydogB
I like it, the first one I saw was when somone posted a pic on JU back in 99. At the time not many liked it, it even had the woody sides installed like the old Ford Ranchero or Chevy El Camino Woody's of the 70's and early 80's. I am not too fond of the Woody sides but that front end is sweet. So far there are two options for us the 97+ front clip or this one. I am researching a distant third possibility, and that is a front clip install from the Chinese 2500 XJ. A friend of mine is an immigrant from mainland China, and goes back every couple of years. He tells me He can get those parts and ship them back, but my fear is paying for two fenders, lights, markers, bumper and header only to find it won't work with the MJ. When I find out what those parts cost I will keep everyone posted.

Oizarod115
bad-@$$. lol idk how itll fit, my trucks been wrecked fornt end (two times i think) and the header panel i got had been through a fender bender so mine doesnt line up EXACTLY but its not to bad. but you like things to be 'right' so i figured i'd mention it
JeepcoMJ
are you calling me uptight? haha, i do want it to be perfect as possible. that will be different with the incoming truck...it's not gonna be halfass, but it won't be perfect either...i want it for a DD and for my wheeling truck, so scratches dings and nicks are for character. Pete M
I wonder what it would look like with the waggy lights and the MJ grille? :hmm:
JeepcoMJ
I wonder what it would look like with the waggy lights and the MJ grille? :hmm: i wondered that too. here's the problem...the waggy grille is about 4 inches longer than the mj grille. so nothing would work... oh, and the waggy grille has the turn signals built into it...soo that would have to happen to the manche grille. basically, not possible without some cutting and serious plastic welding. Pete M
bummer.
JeepcoMJ
bummer. yup, if it were otherwise, i would just put the waggy grille on my manche, hook up the waggy turn signals, remove my turn signals, and put fog lights in place of them...kinda like what you did Pete, except with waggy turn signals. come to think of it...i'm going to do some more measuring. perhaps If the mounts are spaced the same i can cut some out of the middle of the grille and screw it in???? that would be the tits
