mjbret13 Posted July 8, 2014 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I'm very curious what my gear ratio is. 88 comanche eliminator 4.0 2wd 5speed Peugeot BA10/5 with Dana 35 rear. It just feels really lacking in power with a set of 30x9r15 cooper discover AT. I. Also curious how to identify gear ratio on a Dana 30 but it's ID tag as a PO started a 4wd swap by swapping a non disconnect d30 in the front from unknown year cherokee. 88Chief4x4 Posted July 8, 2014 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Put a piece of tape on the driveshaft and a piece of tape on your tire, get a buddy to watch as you pull forward slowly and get him to count how many times the driveshaft spins to get one full tire rotation, easiest way to get a rough estimate ( 3 driveshaft spins to one tire spin = 3.07; 3.75 driveshaft turns to one tire spin = 3.73 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mnkyboy Posted July 8, 2014 Share Posted July 8, 2014 here's how I see it. the tooth count is stamped on the ring gear so if you don't know what ratio you have then you probably havent serviced the diffs in which case its probably due for it. mjbret13 Posted July 10, 2014 Author Share Posted July 10, 2014 It wouldn't be a bad idea to service the difs. Would 3.07 be fine for running 31's. I don't plan on going any bigger then that.
