Building the 2.5 of just swapping it for the good old straight six. Looking for ideas and opinions.

Reliability is a wash between the 4.0 and the 2.5. As far as more hp and tq, the 4.0 takes the cake, at the cost of more weight and heat. Personally, I own 2 jeeps. One with a hopped up L6 and one with a TBI 2.5. To be perfectly honest, the 6 is a BLAST to drive, but I don't feel that the 4 banger is underpowered at all. It does just fine on the highway, in the city, and even towing/hauling within reason.

Go to www.4bangerjp.com and do some research before you decide. Ton of good 2.5 specific info there for mods. Most are for 91 and later port injected motors but a lot of stuff crosses over especially concerning the engine itself. Good luck.
