Oil Pan Gasket

Do I need to buy a dedicated gasket if I'm going to be dropping the belly pan, or can I RTV it?

I'd highly recommend the one piece Felpro or Victor Reinz rubber gasket.  You'll need to RTV the corners and the section where the timing chain cover and block merge, but other than that, the gasket will be your best friend.

I think I've tried everything and everything leaks.  One piecers leak the least, just don't be afraid to add some RTV up front at the joints.

I suppose I should just find out how much one costs. I'm just cheap is all; hence the question.

I second the one piece rubber gasket, when you are in there might as well look at the rear main. If you have oil leaks make sure your breather pcv systems are working. If they aren't you will push past gaskets all the time because the crankcase will be under positive pressure.

Oh yeah, I'm getting in there cuz the oil pump and the RMS need replacing. And thanks for the pcv info.
