TheDude Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hello again, I just finished replacing my entire exhaust including the 02 sensor and injectors. now it only turns over but won't fire.. It ran fine before aside from the long cranking and massive leak from the cracked manifold. As far as I can tell everything is hooked up right. The only odd thing I found is a three hole connector at the rear of the fuel rail that I can't find anything to connect it to and a rubber hose with a piece of white plastic on the end of it. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
Jeep Driver Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Check your CPS connection. Or, there is a possibility that you damaged the CPS while working on the exhaust.....? As an aside, I perform one repair at a time.......start.......run........test.
gogmorgo Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Not familiar with Renix system, but from location, my guess is that's your crank position sensor plug. The cps is on your bellhousing, and no, your truck will not run with it unplugged. Find your cps pigtail and plug it back in.
TheDude Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I know it won't run with that unplugged, I just didn't know that's what that was. Thanks a lot. I was also about to as where it is, but that diagram answers that question too. I going to bet that's my issue.

TheDude Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah, that was my problem. I somehow managed to connect my CPS to my 02 sensor! lol It started right up once fixed that.
mvusse Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Replace your O2 sensor. The low resistance of the CPS probably blew it. Even an analog multimeter has a low enough impedance to damage an O2 sensor.

TheDude Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 I'm not driving it yet I'm still getting it ready. I can just take the sensor out and exchange it at advance for a new one. I'd rather not be trying to waste gas a more time seeing wether it's that or 6 other things that could be wrong. lol
