Jacob Ochs
Hello I am having problems with my 4wd. I'm gonna have to replace all vacuum lines and I wanted to know what the check valve is an where I could get a new one?
yxmj
Check Valve? If you mean the switch that activates your cad....it is located on your transfer case........ But maybe you should re-phrase the question..... :dunno:
ftpiercecracker1
Thats probably what he is referring to, the t-case switch i mean. Regaurdless if it is either the T-case switch or the CAD system, this will solve the problem. Jacob Ochs: Read. Learn. I've never noticed a difference. And, if the factory was gonna lose MPGs they never woulda done it .Any vibes indicate an issue with the shaft, not the fix. Jacob Ochs
What could be wrong with the shaft?
cruiser54
What could be wrong with the shaft? Bad u-joints, bad double cardon parts.............

cruiser54
Closest to the transfer case front output.
Jacob Ochs
Is it a quick fix?
cruiser54
Nope. But it needs to be done no matter what.
Eagle
What could be wrong with the shaft? Out of balance. More likely, the slip joint may be worn out. That was the problem with the 2001 XJ I bought (which doesn't have a CAD, by the way). I had a horrible vibration that started acting up around 50 MPH and got worse as the speed increased. I could crawl under the front, grab the aft end of the front yoke, and both see and feel significant angular movement when shaking the yoke (slip joint) side-to-side. I tossed in a junkyard front driveshaft and it pretty much cured it -- enough to get me through the winter, anyway.

I've never seen that happen. :-\ Does that come with hard use, or are there better or worse shafts that one has to look for?
