Will This Valve Cover Work?

Recommended Posts

I have an 86 with the 2.5. I cracked the valve cover a little changing the gasket. My neice gave me a steel one but it's different.

this is the one on the truck

this is the replacement,  I'm guessing the hole at the back is for the pcv valve, would that little nipple thing on the right side be for the hose at the rear of the original? And can that be adapted?

Thanks

The first pictured VC uses a traditional PCV setup (PCV valve at front and breather at the back in the picture).

The second picture (red VC) uses the later CCV system ... much simpler and doing the same job. To use it you will need the orifice fitting for the rear of the VC (indexed hole at the back of the VC). Then run a hose from that to the intake manifold nipple. Then hook a hose from tje front brass nipple to the air box nipple.

Or move the current PCV valve to the rear opening (may require some openning resizing) and again run a hose from the front brass nipple to the airbox as long as it is getting filtered air.

that is an aluminum cover.  it will work.  just requires re-routing of the pcv system

you can use the Mitsubishi  2.4 liter pcv [ with the long nose one ' with 8mm hose ......next thing is inverted chimney in the cover [rear one] needs one mod  plug the 3/8' with hex plug [thread the hole ]
