I went to the junkyard this morning to pull a new column for my 90. 3 XJs and not one had it's steering column still left in it. Saw a late 80s early 90s S10 blazer, the columns looked pretty similar, I didn't pull it. While researching just now I found an old no longer active member who claimed to have installed an s10 column into his MJ with no problems. Any credibility to this?

Not sure but I believe the column is a GM part in our trucks maybe one of the gurus will chime in but if that doesn't pan out for ya I do have an mj non tilt column with column shift on hand dunno what shipping would be to Ohio just an option

Yes, the Jeeps of our era use a GM style steering column.  As to whether a S10 or other Chevy/GM column would directly swap, I don't know.  I would imagine it would take a little modification, but our Jeeps do use GM steering columns for sure.

A couple years ago I stuck a '72 Caddillac steering column into a '75 CJ5. Was pretty much a bolt in. Had to fabricate one brace on the dash left hand side.

I took four pics. For some reason this is the only one came out.
