Dando
I went to the junkyard this morning to pull a new column for my 90. 3 XJs and not one had it's steering column still left in it. Saw a late 80s early 90s S10 blazer, the columns looked pretty similar, I didn't pull it. While researching just now I found an old no longer active member who claimed to have installed an s10 column into his MJ with no problems. Any credibility to this? ggcnash
Not sure but I believe the column is a GM part in our trucks maybe one of the gurus will chime in but if that doesn't pan out for ya I do have an mj non tilt column with column shift on hand dunno what shipping would be to Ohio just an option
onlyinajeep726
Yes, the Jeeps of our era use a GM style steering column. As to whether a S10 or other Chevy/GM column would directly swap, I don't know. I would imagine it would take a little modification, but our Jeeps do use GM steering columns for sure. Strokermjcomanche
The mount that bolts to firewall I believe would have to be modified and maybe the one that mounts under the dash also to my recolection most gm columns are gonna be column shift, is that what you have ? jimoshel
A couple years ago I stuck a '72 Caddillac steering column into a '75 CJ5. Was pretty much a bolt in. Had to fabricate one brace on the dash left hand side. I took four pics. For some reason this is the only one came out.
