88whitemanche Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 What's up guys I'm in the process of accumulating parts for the single axle shaft upgrade to my cad dana 30... I got the bigger u-joint axle shafts through a trade, just bought a new solid diff cover... I know I need the new inner seal part number to fit the new shaft does any one have it? Also where can I get a block off plate besides going to rustys offroad website....
skidoo_j Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Yukon gear sells a set. It includes all known seals and a block off plate. ya w391470-kit 21364 upc code: 883584213642 I'm sure you can find it cheaper, or make one. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/yga-21364 Just an fyi I researched all the possible seals and bought them all. A buddy of mine had that kit, I made my own plate, but the seal i needed was $20. Seals I found in various forums more ** means mentioned more times. I don't recall which i ended up using cr11800 **NOS 11343 NOS11777 ** 40576S / NOS 11771 NOS 18050 / 203006S NOS 11899
Jeep Driver Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I would have just swapped a later D30.......but that's just me.
Blue88Comanche Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I would have just swapped a later D30.......but that's just me. That's that I did, only i went with CV joints instead of the larger U-joints.
mvusse Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Seal part number in first post of thread linked in my signature. Block off plate can be made with a piece of 1/8 steel, a jig saw, a drill and using the cad housing as a pattern.
88whitemanche Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 I would have just swapped a later D30.......but that's just me. I wish it were that easy to find a dana 30 with 4.10 gears in the jy from a newer cherokee if 4cyl 4wd were dime a dozen and not regearing. but the axle shafts were the best option to upgrade my front axle instead waiting months or years to accommodate a 4.10 axle I would do it...but the cheapest option for me is the shafts
