I looked into doing a gauge cluster swap, and decided to just go with manual gauges. If I'm going to take the time and put gauges in, they may as well be correct. Even though I need to straighten the gauges up lol. I hooked a Toggle to the lights so I can turn them off during the day, or on longer trips.

Here's mine

Cool, I probably should have done that!  Couldn't figure out how to undo that shift indicator wire to save my life and had to break it to get the old idiot gauges out.

Neohic: how happy are you with the A Pillar set up? I was looking into them but I'm not sure if they will be in the way during trail use or entering/exiting the MJ

What's so funny about reading an aircraft registration number?  :hmm:

I like them. My brother works for SPX which owns the Sunpro name so I got the gauges fairly cheap along with their universal two pod mount. It was by no means Jeep specific so I took a heat gun and an a-pillar to form it around. As far as in the way, that's the reason I put them there... so they wouldn't be. They're even with my line of sight which is nice. They don't stick out near far enough to be obstructive while getting in and out. Only real complaint I have about them is that I should've put blue bulbs in them so they better match the rest of the dash.

I see that part of my sentance didnt get put in my post... I didn't read the number. Recognized the instrument panel. I took my private class in one. Picked up an old J3 Cub in March to restore. But the wings are going to have to be clipped due to damage during transport.

And thanks for the input Neohic. When I had my Broncoii, I had a grab handle there for entering when the doors were off. And i catch myself grabbing for it every now and then. So that's why I was curious.

Ah, okay. Got my private on a C150 overseas many years ago, never had the pleasure of flying the 172. Good luck restoring the vintage Cub. Post up some pics if you can.

Don't let it set to long without doing something with it. Put something off it's easier to just keep putting off. Do something everyday, even if it's only a couple minutes.

Took me 3 years to get Flying again. Must have a couple hundred pics of the restoration but they're packed somewhere. Can't find them.

As it sits for now, and probably for awhile.

Nice photo of the garage.

Is there supposed to be an airplane in there somewhere?

nice pictures of the aircraft, love the vintage stuff.  been over 15 years since i've been able to log time other than an occasional helicopter ride at Guards (which doesnt count as anything at all).
