I don't know if this has been posted before but as I am a big fan of the "Jeep" in-lines

What is the highest mileage you have, or can talk about, on a I6 or I4

Did you put them on yourself?

One of the reasons I am asking is I was having a chuckle with my Daughter...I just got her first jeep for her... a clean 1999 XJ

and she was comparing it to my 1987 MJ....I laughed and told her it was a bit of a backwards comparison as hers has 319,000 Kms (about 199,000 miles) and my 87 has 88,000 kms (about 55,000 original miles)....sort of backward don't you think

Anyway i will start the bidding at 199,000

NEXT

My MJ's got 487,000km, (about 302,000 miles). I've only had it just over a year and put on about 15,000km of that, though. The PO only put on 11,000km in just under a year, but said the guy who sold it to him claimed the engine was rebuilt around the 320,000km mark, and I suspect he's right because it doesn't burn oil.

Not an MJ but an XJ. 1998 XJ 4.0 stick. I bought it in 2007 with 206,000 miles on it from the original owner.

Drove it until this last winter and gave it to my soon to be ex son in law with just under 400,000 on it.

It passed 400k this past summer all on the original motor.

The long block was never apart on it and it went 2,500 miles before a quart of oil was used.

It wasn't all burned either as it had some good leaks on it.

I'd like to have it back but he traded it for a pos 90's Dodge 1500.

I'm not afraid to buy high mileage vehicles from the original or long time owners.

Why would you keep a vehicle that long unless it was really reliable?

225,000 on my MJ now and previous 4 cyl had 300,000 when the speedo quit and the guy I sold it to blew the head gasket. I ended up getting it back and swapped the motor. My son took the old motor, replaced the head gasket and ran it in his MJ till a rod came out the side (he punctured the oil pan wheeling and was trying to get home)
