HOrnbrod
Well, my old Autozone Gold Top Duralast 34-DLG battery finally gave it up today - wouldn't hold a charge overnight anymore. I originally bought it in Jan, 2006 for $71.00, so I figure I got my money's worth. Problem is, the new one cost $124.99! Inflation maximus! Hope this one lasts as long as the old one did.........
GirsMJ86
$125?! I was just looking at those just a few months ago (ended up buying one from Meijer where I work that has more amps and better or same warranty for $80) and they were only $100. Still more than your old price of $71 but still... hopefully it does lat ya just as long.
88whitemanche
I guess they are trying to replicate the same features or similar costs as the optima batteries....maybe?

ride172
They are great batteries... I have them in both my Jeeps. Used the warranty on each one due to leaving interior lights on till completely dead. It was my fault but still replaced for free. They where both over 2 years old at the time. I also use the duralast marine battery in my boat. skidoo_j
Based on my research the Duralast golds are actually better then the new optima. The only benefit the optima has is it's sealed and can go upside down. We bought two of the duralast golds to go in my dads Diesel dodge, they've held up great. And both are holding up very well. In my VW i refused to pay double the price and ended up with a walmart special.

I put one in my TJ to replace my dead Optima. So far it's doing great.
