Possible cooling switch in the future...

I'm thinking about doing away with my older style CLOSED cooling system and upgrade to the newer OPEN style on my 4.0L.

It appears that radiator is leaking some anti-freeze from time to time. If it's time to replace, now would be the time. :roll:

Could someone provide me what I would need? I'm guessing mostly hoses.

Not the best written, but you get the point. Personally I'd throw some stop leak crap in it first and avoid f'ing with it unless it does overheat.

I really dislike that stop leak stuff. I tried it on a 1988 mazda, and when I pulled the head the coolant passages were all nastied up.

Well the old radiator died. Lucked out today and bought a new 3 core Go-Dan radiator for 93 XJ (Model No. 43-2335) for $114.30 here in town!!! I was looking at paying $137.00 off of ebay/internet. New cap brought the total to $119.28. :cheers:

Next, it's time to order the remaining parts from Jeep. :banana:

You might also want to consider a high flow t-stat and t-stat housing from Hescoe. And if you want to get rid of the ugly snake (upper rad hose), Get one for a 99+ XJ. Doing this provides a shorter, more direct path from the t-stat housing to the radiator! 8)

Jp mag did it to their MJ in there september 2005 magazine. I have been reading the sept 05 mag the past couple weeks. I am going to help a buddy do that to his along with a 2 to 4wd conversion like jp has talked about in that edition. they also helped with some common problems i know to look for now. If you can't find the info on it, send me your email and i will scan the pages for you.
