Exhaust Soon

Now that i've gotten my front end mostly figured out. I want to get my exhaust sounding nice. I've been thinking either a Thrush welded or Thrush turbo muffler (which do yall believe would sound better?) ran with 2 1/2 inch pipes and no cat. Single exit like the normal exhaust. Anything you reccomend? I want a nice noticable rumble at idle and when speeding up. Not to obnoxious though. Also what would you guys estimate an exhaust shop would charge for this?

I don't like the thrush my buddy had it on his new pipe all the way to the thrush muffler and nothing off the back it doesn't have that muscle sound I like my 40 series 2.5 inch all the way the the muffler and 2.5 out the back

 I have the Thrush welded on my '88 4.0l. It's way too loud for me. Flowmaster on my TJ sounds much better.

:agree:  Flowmaster 40 or 50 sounds the best on a 4.0 to me.

i have a thrush glasspack on my 2.8, no muffler. sounds alright. Only got it because it was cheaper than a new muffler. Dunno how it would sound on a 4.0.buddy has a cherry bomb glasspack on his 4.0 and it just sounds like crap

Well ive listened to some videos and I'm stuck between either the original 40 or the super 40. Also i don't believe any that i watched were without a cat. Which I'm getting rid ofbecause such an old one must be clogged decently and not good for my engine at all, also it adds a better sound :D which do you guys find better? Super 40 or original? And if anyone has videos of their exhausts, please post because id love to hear.

My experience super 40s is crap they crack at the seam stay with the regular 40 series

i have a flowmaster 40 series on my 2.5 with full 2 1/2 inch all the way back has a nice deep snarl but not to loud or ricey

I don't have a vid, but I have a Flowmaster 50 on mine with gutted cat and stock 2 1/4" tail. It has a nice growl under load but mostly quiet at idle. I love it!
