i am getting some bigger tires soon will the stock axle handle a

29x10.50-15LT TRXUS STS (it is all the superswamperadds)

will the 8.8 ford it bolt right in to my truck?

First Q answer is YES i run 35s on mine and wheel it all the time with no breaks and its not recomended to go above 31-33s if you wheel it i don't know how mine is still together.

Second Q Answer is no you have to move the perches and mess around with brake parts and then it still might allow your tires to rub on the frame depending on backspacing but I'm not sure what you need to clear it good. I'm sure the 8.8 guys know more i am going D44!!!

ALSO As Oizarod was right i am the one that spun my Hou8sing on the tubes and yes The D35 is weak and if you have 4.10s and stock tires it would have alot of torqu. I run 35 BFGs and 4.10s and it runs about the smae as it did with 3.55d and 31s just for reference...

Mechanical fans pull way more air than all but the best electric fans. Dumping the mech fan is a pretty good idea for the 2.5L, but I personally wouldn't do it with the 4.0L. Many of us have difficulties keeping it cool the way it is. :(

you just have to know what you're looking for, GoJeep has it done on his 4.0 and that's australia!

i think the mech. fan pulls 2000CFM but i wouldnt settle for less than 2500CFM myself due to cooling issues with the 4.0L

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_752006_-1_10117http://

that one is complete with a thermostat style switch that cuts on and off for you. for 125$ and 2800CFM 15" fan

EDIT: gojeep actually states 2000CFM minimum, 3000 for heavy towing/offroad use.

here's the article, there's also one beneath this on the home page a bout a 4500stock ford taurus fan  bout to go read that next.

Gears and a posi unit will make all the difference in the world when it comes to 0 to 60 times. Also some sticky tires. If you seriously will never travel an entire quarter mile and you drive very minimally on the highway, do some research and figure out how to install a Ford Explorer 8.8 with 4.10's and a Traklock limited slip. You can find these axles for around $200 in a junkyard with those gears and the limited slip. You will have to know someone with some fabrication skills as the install requires welding. But you would be happy with the results.

If you don't know anyone with those skills... I don't have any suggestions other than what everyone else is telling you.

Might /probably be a moot point now I've got an '86 which came w/ a 2.5l & auto 900 series trans. that I stuck 4.0 l/ax15/231 in & retained the original header panel. I used a rad.out of an early to mid 70's(?) Comet. Large 2 row unit, got elect. fan from from Summit & reversed the blade unit so it became a "pusher" as I had to install in frt. of rad. I installed low temp sensor in "T" @ t/stat for ground , But you could also install an override switch if needed. Almost 4 years now w/no problems.

... do i remember correctly that some year grand or maybe libbie brakes could work on a D30? you'd have to run a 16" rim though

idk, check around on places like jeepin.com they should be write ups
