dasbulliwagen
I ran your VIN through Chrysler, came back as VIN not found. 86 is too early to be in their system. Sorry.
shelbyluvv
I found a date code behind my door panels. Might be worth a look.
89eliminator
all my build dates ( and every other comanche i have seen) have been on the drive side door. the only problem is when someone swaps out doors...
Alexia
The frame/body build date can also be found stamped in the left wheel well on the frame near the brake line. I believe it shows up on the right side too. This build date should be within a few days of the final build date.
TGTgoHARD
The build date inside my truck door is rubbed off. I can see where it would be but its gone. Ill check the fender tomorrow when its light. Inside my door panel it says september 1985, but assume thats a date for when the door panel was built, not my truck? 87MJTIM
next to the brake line it says 108281 If you put that number in excel and convert to a date, you get June 16, 2196. I don't think that was it. :shake:
MJ Journey
I found the original factory build sheets behind the driver's door panel. I had to take it off so I could change the window crank assembly. It had specs on things from the radio to carpet to engine stuff. Build date was right there. I took it to my Jeep dealer and he was kind enough to "decipher" it for me.

87sparTruck
The 89 parts truck I picked up had it taped to the driver's side floor board.
flint54
My build sheet was found beneath the carpet on the passenger side. My truck also has a stamped metal dataplate riveted to the crossmember directly beneath the radiator.
