Interference issues have a lot to do with the rim backspacing also. Are you planning on running stock rims?

Yeah thanks.............I'm looking for wider.

Just wondered if anyone had any interference problems?

I've run both 235/75R15s and 30x9.50R15s. They are essentially the same diameter, but the 30s are just a slight bit wider. The 235s gave me no problems. The 30s rubbed on the lower control arms when the steering was cranked over to full lock. The rub wasn't bad ... and I've also run 31x10.50s on stock rims, with more rub than the 30s. But for zero rubbing, 235/75-15 is the largest size you acn run rub-free (unless you change out the lower control arms for WJ arms).

Anyone got any pics or details on the WJ arms?

I run generic 235/75R15 on the Purple People Eater no problem. I had 235/75R15 Wintermarks on Wilbur soon after I got it and they rubbed the lower control arm when steering at full lock. Not badly, but enough to be able to hear it.

Tire sizes for supposedly the same size tire aren't between different brands and even within the same brand between different models. Most 31s barely measure 30.

Theoretical sizes (typically actual size runs smaller) height x cross section:

205/75R15 = 27.1x8.1

225/75R15 = 28.3x8.9

235/75R15 = 28.9x9.3

245/75R15 = 29.5x9.6

255/70R15 = 29.1x10.0

The first two are the two most common stock sizes, the third one is what the vast majority out there actually runs (from what I've seen in junk yards and all ones I've bought).

WJ front lower control arms are fully boxed and a lot stronger than our stock stamped steel ones. They also have a bend in them to clear larger tires. Stock WJs run 225/75R16 (29.3x8.9) or 235/65R17 (29.0x9.3) depending on what size rim they came with. To make them fit the steel bushings in them need to be trimmed flush with the rubber. A $20 angle grinder with a cutting wheel will do this in a few minutes.

I'm pretty sure Pete has posted photos on this upgrade more than once.

Not so fast. My 1999 WJ Laredo with Up Country suspension came with 245/70R16s. I've never heard of a WJ having 225/75-16s.

Former coworker bought a WJ a few weeks before he quit. It had 225/75R16 tires on it and that was also what the door sticker said. It was the Laredo model with a 4.0, but not up country. I believe it was a 99 also.

WJ arms:

same length as MJ arms, just needs the steel bushings trimmed a bit

While I was there I nipped a bit of the arms and off the axle for maximum articulation.

I have the General Grabber AT2 tires on my MJ they are 31x10.5R15 sized tires and only rub the LCA when i make sharp left turns. when i swap to the WJ LCAs that should solve the rubbing for me
