Emissions Decals / Build Dates - All Years, All Engines

Recommended Posts

Decided to continue making MJ Decals for the club in my spare time. I churned this one out from scratch earlier today for my '87. If anyone can snap some pictures of a 2.8 emissions tag, 2.1 Renault Diesel tag, and both 4.0 Renix / HO model emissions tags; along with the build date stickers on the driver's side door I would appreciate it. I've seen fellow MJers that are missing these (especially build date stickers) and I thought it'd be a useful idea to have these around (check my decal thread) in case anyone wants to go get a replacement made. :brows:  comanche.gif

Here's an example of how close the picture has to be. This would be the preferred distance / angle.

How good of a picture does it have to be? I still have the 2.8L one on my Jeep and can take a quick one with my cell or it'll take a few days to get a camera to get a good camera to take a snap of it.

Can you do door ones as well?

All I ask is 3 shots of the Emissions tag (left side, middle, and right side) for accuracy purposes.

Door Labels I can do as well, if they're legible. Again, 3 shots (Left, middle, right)

Anyway you want to post them is fine by me.

yay! mine is missing so this ROCKS. 91 4.0 HO. IF you can't get pics of one, let me know. I can prob get them all in one shot.

Are MJ and XJ ones the same? My local junk yard has rows of Xjs. :)

When you can make some for '89 Pioneer 4.0l auto let me know.

The emissions guys here took at me crazy :redX: when they see the door label is missing.

By all means, please get pictures of whichever ones you can. It's few and far between when I go out to the JY, so I'm kind of lacking here. :dunno: I'd really like to start on the door ones, if possible. I know those are going to be wanted by a lot of members here.

I know this might be a bad evil thing to ask as my first post here but if you were provided pictures would you be able to make these for a CJ-7 4.2/258? Thanks.

Nah, not evil. I personally have a soft spot for CJ's. If you post up a picture, I'll see what I can do.

Here is the 2.1

My camera sucks. Rob should be here later and can maybe do better.

opsled

Not bad, but I need a closer shot. Something like this should suffice.

Here are three shots of an '88 4.0, California: (couldn't get a good shot because of the C101 connector, it's 9x2.6)

Actually the 2.8's were very good engines. In the '86-'87 years they had a problem with the cam bearing going out due to insufficient oiling due to the cam bearings oil hole being to little. This gave them a bad rap. When I heard that I solved it by drilling a 1/2 inch hole thru the block to the cam bearing. Then installed a oil reservoir in the hole. Every couple thousand miles I fill the reservoir with 10-30 Quacker State. Got 432,767.3 miles on it and ain't had a bit of any problems. :jump:
