1tonMJ
Took my Comanche to the garage to see if they could cure the death wobble. They called me back with a laundry list of parts. All new steering components, new ball joints, new sway bar links, new sway bar, new stabilizer shock, with install, and shipping, came to grand total of $1,360. Long story short, I can't pay that right now. Cam anyone tell me why steering component used on 2,884,172 vehicles are special order from the factory, and cost 25% more than aftermarket? So anyway, I will rock it till the wheels fall off, then throw Dana 44's under the Manche. I am not going to buy all that for a Dana 30 just to do it again for a 44 in the future. CURSE THE PARTS INDUSTRY!!!
Alexia
They are screwing you, basically. 1.) The sway bar does not need replaced unless it some how has managed to rust through.(Incredibly unlikely!) 2.) Ball joints are the most time consuming to replace and can be expensive. So lots of labor cost involved there. 3.) Worn control arm bushings and track bar bushing/ball joint are typically the first cause of death wobble. I wonder if they actually tested all the components.
apexjeepinjoe
This has nothing to do with the Parts industry.
Pete M
have you had someone saw the steering wheel back and forth while you looked underneath for slop in the system?

Incommando
In 9/10 cases of MJ/XJ death wobble i have been around the trac bar was the culprit. Check that the mount on the body end isn't wobbled out
