Sir Sam Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Those last few are awesome!! Where where those taken? What the story on the water crossing/flooded road? Last few are around moab. Thats the old road, they built a new one which made a dam and a lake, old road flooded, probably 50 feet below the surface.

Comanchero87 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Did you hike all the way through? Thats one hell of a hike during the summer months. We did it in 3days. We ended up having to hike at night and rest during the day because of the heat. I hated doing it at the time but now that I look back I'm glad I did it. That water fall is awesome you can climb up inside and end up in that little hole. Pretty crazy place down there. We dident know what payote was and actually picked a cucumber looking thing and asked a park ranger what it was. She said a felony.....she let us off but took the payote.
Sir Sam Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Did you hike all the way through? I hike the canyon a couple of times a year and have been doing so since 95. I have never done a rim to rim, and I don't go in the summer. It seems like the only way to travel during the summer would be to hike during the night and rest during the day.....not my idea of fun. I go in the spring, fall, and winter, very pleasant then. I've been to cottonwood campground but never further north, I've been from Hermits rest all the way over to the grandview trail......still just a tony fraction of the canyon.
xjrev10 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 These are great pictures. Extremely fun for a flatlander to look at!
Sir Sam Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 These are great pictures. Extremely fun for a flatlander to look at! I bet, honestly I don't know how you flatlanders can live there, I'm surprised you don't just jump off a cliff to.......oh wait thats right, nevermind.

I bet, honestly I don't know how you flatlanders can live there, I'm surprised you don't just jump off a cliff to.......oh wait thats right, nevermind. The lakes, fishing and boating keep me here. I love the weather, its fairly predictable, etc. I lived in Casper, WY for a few months. Found nothing else to do beside jump in the jeep and go exploring. 600 miles a day sometimes. Keep posting!! :clapping:
MancheKid86 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 so, did the jeep go all the way under the water? or is it made to seem like it did  if it did, BAD @$$!

Especially for a flatlander who lived in Northern California for a good chunk of growing up...but now it's family ties that makes it worthwhile.
knever3 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012  Wow, beautiful!! Thanks for posting the pics!
