Keep smelling oil??

I have recently started being able to smell oil in my truck for some reason, I occasionally got a smell of it before but when i was driving home today it smelled really strong and I could smell it the whole way home. Engine oil is still full, any ideas on what is causing this?

leaky valve cover? put a new gasket in mine, took a few days but once the oil residue finished baking off the smell is gone

As mentioned, valve cover gasket, oil leaking from CCV vacuum lines running down intake on to exhaust, RMS leaking and oil blowing on exhaust, leaking oil pan gasket, leaking timing cover gasket. Get a light and rag and climb under to investigate, it could be one or all of the above.

You either have a leaking valve cover gasket or a rear main seal leak dripping oil onto the exhaust.

Or a leaking oil sender or leaky oil filter adapter seals. As suggested, go take a look. Start at the top. It's all gonna end up dripping from the engine at the RMS area so don't jump on that first.

my transmission leaks and the oil manages to find its way to the exhaust pipe where it burns off :ack:

And don't forget the distributor gasket. Mine was leaking like a sieve, making a huge mess on the whole side of the motor and all over the starter.
