87manche
So what's your MJ rockin with? I just ditched my "durabrand" tape player that was in the MJ. Santa gave me a nice JVC unit with aux inputs for my Sirius tuner. ow she's rockin with xpold 5.25's and pioneer 6x9's in the b-pillar. The speakers came in the truck, so I can't complain. now the manche got bumps. My new deck

iroc89al3
hey guys this is one of my first posts hear lets see how it does. I am getting a stereo from santa (parents) also and need a box to hold me subs. I was actually thinking about posting my own post about boxes but i figured since this was allready up i might as well not use up space. if the mods want me to i will make another so i don't jack this post. I am in the process of making a subwoofer box for my comanche but dam there is less room behind the seats then i thought. can i see some pics of you sub boxes? if i don't have any luck i will make a new post. thanks albert III
87manche
I don't have a sub box, just the 5 1/4s in the doors and the 6x9s in the b-pillar. THumps just fine with composite speakers all around and the aformentioned JVC HU. You're more than likely going to have to go with a sealed box because of the space constraints. Take that into consideration when you're sub shopping. You might also want to consider a bazooka tube, they usually fit in trucks. If I were to build a box for the MJ I would extend it under the seat for more volume, and make it sealed.
mjeff87
I'm running a blingin' $20 Kmart Rampage! head unit (all the lights in the faceplate burned out so I use a flashlight at night to change stations). That's pushing the 1.31 jigawatts of sound thru the stock door speakers in front, and a tricked up Walmart speaker box behind the bench. If you really turn it up, it tickles your kidneys :D Jeff
87manche
Yeah, I had the $25 wal mart special that sucked hard. I just had the front speakers in the door, at least your K-mart one has four speaker outputs! The 10 yr old Jensen CD player in the escort had no lights, I just mashed buttons when I needed something to happen...

Then make a sub box for it. If I was going to put a sub box in the MJ I'd look into something from JL audio and see if they had one of there low space stealth boxes available for it or make one that would suit my needs. The easiest thing to do would be to get a 10" or 12" sub. Just one and mount in the the middle of the box and extend the sides of your box to each side of the cab. That would gain you a lot of airspace if you need that much. But again check out subs and buy one that operates well with less air space.

Patrick Well, it's still my DD, and driving from customers sites would suck without my satellite radio. I still plan on keeping the sat-rad when it's just a trail jeep. Pete M
I used to have a kickin' system in my 88, but in it's current form it relies on the reciever for powering the aftermarket foor speakers. My new CB doesn't fit where the old one is and I'm contemplating installing it in the radio's location. I hardly use the radio anymore so I doubt I'll miss it. My truck makes its own music. :D Jeep on! --Pete
